Well done everyone who was involved in the Presentation Evening. 3rd Time Lucky for U14's West

AGM/ Election of Club Officials for 2013-2014
The Club's AGM will be held on Wednesday 19th June at Perton Community Centre starting at 7:30pm. All parents are welcome to attend. The Club officials for next season will be 'elected in' at this meeting. BPYFL Nominations for Fair Play Award
Whilst we weren't lucky enough to have our name drawn out of the hat for the Bilston League Fair Play Team of the Year. It is worth noting that as a club we had a total 11 nominations out of the 112. A very healthy % of the teams, put forward, for a club of this size. Special praise must go to Dan Hughes and his U14's who got 7 nominations with only Wednesbury Sports Unions U13 getting just one more!
open trials for U13's (NEXT SEASON U14's)
Perton and codsall under 13s will have open trials over the summer to strengthen their current squad for next season. After a fantastic end to the season and winning the merit shield we would like to continue with this success next season. If interested please contact Dan Burke (07912 686 918) for trials.

Top night at Bilston Town for U13's and U15 Wolves
[ 31 days old ]
With both sides winning their respective finals, at Bilston Town FC by 2-0, it was a great night for the club. A 2-0 result in more ways than one! Hard luck to AFC Woodcross and Hawkins Sports who both proved to be worthy opposition and a credit to their respective clubs as were our players and supporters. Well done everyone involved.
I'd Like to thank John Slyde of Premier Sports, Lord Street, Wolverhampton, for his continued support. As part of a sponsorship deal he has with the club. John gives us back 5% of our total spend with him. This is on top of the generous discount he already gives to the club. John has kindly agreed to provide us with a cheque for £103.10.

I'd like to remind all parents that everyone involved in the club, from the managers, their assistants and the clubs officials voluntarily give up a significant amount of time for the lads to play football. We don't get everything right but we do our best with the limited resources available to us. We would welcome more help from any of the parents who feel they could contribute. Next season we will be looking for someone to act as treasurer and would be happy to see others help run the website or be a fundraiser. See club news for details of AGM.

Like U15 East it was dissapointing to see U15 Wolves lose the Group 1 Autumn Shield final particularly when you consider having topped the group they lost the final to the team in 2nd place! To be fair to Wednesfield RBL they played the better football on the night and deserved the win. However when you have an extremely dubious referring decision for their 1st goal; have a shot cleared off the line and one that hits the post then comes back and hits the keeper on the head yet still doesn't go in; you know that its just not going to be your night! I'd like to thank all the parents for their support not just last night but throughout the season. I'm very proud of the lads. They are a credit to the club. Lets face it three major trophies, in the locker at the end of the season, has to be classed as an impressive haul for any team.

It's dissapointing that the U15 East lost the Merit Shield group 2 final in such cruel fashion yesterday. Particularly when chances for both teams were so thin on the ground. Any neutral observer would have to agree that a draw and dreaded penalties would have been a fair result. But thats life and someone sadly has to lose. Congratulations to Willenhall. Despite the heartache you should all look back with some pride at how much you have all progressed this season.

Congratulations to U15 Wolves. Last nights 5-3 victory against a strong Willenhall Utd secures them a top two finish, possible the title, depending on how other remaining fixtures pan out. On the night it was far from the best performance but we battled back to win having been twice pegged back to level terms. A great effort by all the players especially Sam Squire who scored the goal that clinched the game and silverware despitite being visibly tired before we had even kicked off.
Special thanks should also go to Andy Wenlock and his U15's East lads who also beat Willenhall the previous Wednesday. That result paved the way to ensure that victory would secure a top two spot for their stablemates.
This award is presented annually by Rita Jefferies
in honour of her father, ex-Wolves and Liverpool goalkeeper
Cyril Sidlow. It is not necessarily based on skill or
ability, but effort and attitude. It goes to a player
who has shown the greatest commitment and contribution
to their team's cause.
In 2010 the award was
presented to Daniel Perry by John Williams.
We support the FA Respect programme and encourage all of our club members, players, coaches and parents to accept the decisions of match officials in a mature and honest manner. After all, referees are only human, and like the rest of us they can make a genuine mistake. Overall, they still get the vast majority of decisions correct, and those that they do get wrong have a strange way of evening themselves out over the course of a season.
Don't stand still, keep pushing forward in whatever it is you do. You may get the occasional setback, but treat it as a valuable learning experience, reflect on it, then do what's necessary to ensure it doesn't happen again.
That's what life is all about. We all grow and improve; as people, as parents, as footballers, as coaches/managers, and of course as web designers.
So, our website has been revised. The first version was ok, after all it did get over 10,000 hits. But we didn't want to rest on our laurels.
We hope you like this new version, sign our guestbook and tell us what you think.
